About Next Step

Next Step Community is a faith-based recovery community in Terre Haute, Indiana for those who are serious about overcoming their addiction to drugs and alcohol. Next Step provides both residential programs and outpatient services such as substance abuse groups, 12-step studies, peer coaching, case management, life skills training, holistic modalities, and mental health services. Our goal is to help those who are serious about managing their substance use disorder regain an independent, substance-free lifestyle.

A pathway that fits your journey

Stepping into treatment from substance use disorder means stepping outside of your comfort zone. If you or someone you love suffers from addiction or behavioral health issues, we can help. We believe your recovery process should be as unique as you are. That is why we have created multiple pathways that can be tailored to your needs. In over a decade, we have created a safe and healing faith-based environment where you can pursue a recovery path that fits where you are on your journey to a whole and healthy life.

From high-intensity 24/7 residential treatment to recovery homes and long-term outpatient and mental health services, we can design a recovery plan that meets your individual needs. We truly believe that connection is the most important part of any recovery program, so we provide extra supports such as Recovery Café hours, Celebrate Recovery services, 12-step meetings, bible studies, sober social events and recreation opportunities in order to help you build that new life you are seeking. The first step is to decide on a pathway of recovery that will work for you.

Our Mission

Our mission is to encourage, empower, and equip clients so that each person involved in the Next Step Community can build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

At Next Step, we are a faith-based organization and we believe recovery is a spiritual journey and that an individual must find their own pathway that works best for them. We believe connection with ourselves, with others and with a higher power are important components to every recovery path.

We accept people who are part of a 12-step fellowship, people who choose medication assisted treatment, people who have different faiths and people who have no faith. We believe that acceptance and belonging are more important than the individual pathway of choice, so we seek to be open to all pathways. We offer holistic services such as acupuncture, yoga and meditation as well as bible studies, peer-led groups, peer coaches and clinical services for mental health therapy.
