How do I get accepted into the program?

The process for acceptance is to submit an application and then schedule an interview with the program director (either phone or in person). If we both agree that Next Step is a good fit, then you will be scheduled for an intake date (usually on a Monday or Wednesday). If there is a waiting list, you will be placed on the list after you interview and scheduled for intake as soon as a bed opens.

How much does it cost?

The weekly program service fee is $115 and covers housing, three meals a day and all classes and counseling services. There is an additional $10 fee for each drug screen. Two weeks fees are required upfront.

What if I don’t have the two weeks service fees up front?

On a case-by-case basis, our staff will work with you on your financial situation. We do have scholarship funds that can be granted to individuals who are good candidates, but lack the upfront funds to enter the program.

Do you accept insurance?

Not at this time, however, we are a Recovery Works Provider and we do accept clients that are eligible for coverage under that program.

What do I bring with me?

Your space is limited to a dresser and small closet space. Bring clothes, personal hygiene items, laundry soap, prescription medication, journals, books, and pictures to make your space feel like home. Bedding is supplied. All clothing items must be washed and put through the dryer when you arrive for bed bug prevention. If you smoke, you can bring tobacco products, but all Next Step facilities are smoke-free and there are designated smoking areas. There is no food allowed in the bedrooms, so do not bring personal food items.

How long do I have to stay?

The minimum length of stay is 90 days.

How long can I stay?

You can stay up to two years.

Can I have visits with my children?

Yes, we have facilities for overnight visits at our location and you can take a 24 to 48 hour pass upon approval from the program director to spend time away from the facility visiting your children.

What if I’m pregnant?

You can enter the Next Step program when you are pregnant.

What types of medication are allowed?

You may bring any medication that is prescribed. We do not accept anyone on drug replacement therapy (e.g. methadone or suboxene) or anyone taking any benzodiazepine ( e.g Xanax).

Do I have to be a Christian?

No. We accept anyone of any faith (or no faith). We do require that you be open to the spiritual side of recovery.

Do I have to attend church?

No. We offer a church service on Sundays, but it is not required that you attend and you are free to attend any church service of your choice.

Am I allowed to leave the facility?

Yes. This is not a treatment facility. You are expected to attend classes and meetings, to find employment and to observe curfew requirements.

Can my family members be involved in the program?

Yes. In fact we encourage your family members to visit and to participate in classes with you. Addiction affects everyone in the family. However, no one in active addiction is allowed on Next Step properties.

How long do I have to be sober before entering?

A minimum of 72 hours.
